About the Form I-20
The Form I-20 is a document issued by a U.S. government-approved educational institution certifying that a student has been admitted to a full-time study, in-person program and has demonstrated sufficient financial resources to stay in the United States.
The I-20 is officially titled the “Certificate of Eligibility” because it allows an individual to apply for an F-1 student visa at a U.S. embassy or consulate abroad.
An excellent resource for general information on the Form I-20 is the Department of Homeland Security website, Study in the States.
Detailed information regarding how to obtain the Form I-20, F-1 enrollment requirements, maintaining status, and much more is available in the International Student Hub Canvas Course (login required) that all deposited international students are automatically enrolled into.
