These terms and conditions apply when you give prior express consent to receive text messages from Midwestern University. Text messaging may include one-time or recurring texts related to your visits, MyChart account, billing notifications, prescription reminders, care management, and other matters concerning your relationship with the Midwestern University clinics.
Midwestern University saves your consent to SMS texting and associates it in a database with your name and telephone number. You can opt-out of SMS messages by replying STOP. Your opt-out request will generate one final message confirming that you have been unsubscribed. You will no longer receive SMS messages from Midwestern University. If you want to join again, sign up through MyCharts or reply “HELP” to the last message received from Midwestern University.
Please update Midwestern University if your mobile number changes. It is your responsibility to give the correct mobile number and to update any changes. Midwestern University recommends you use a password to open your mobile device. Text messages may include protected health information (PHI). Since text messaging is unencrypted, there is a risk that this PHI could be intercepted or viewed by third parties, including others who look at your device. When you choose to get text messages from us, you do so at your own risk. The use and disclosure of PHI in text messaging may be governed by other privacy notices, including applicable HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices.
Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Message and data rates may apply for any messages sent to you from Midwestern University and to Midwestern University from you. Message frequency may vary. Midwestern University is not liable for your use or reliance on the content of any text message. Midwestern University also does not guarantee the successful delivery of text messages by your wireless provider.
