Dentures are made over the course of four or five appointments. Midwestern University students, under the direction of general faculty, form a special mold of the mouth. The mold is used to design the denture by hand, for it to be ready for fitting.
Due to the variations of bone structure based on the patient's dental and medical history, multiple appointments might be needed. In addition, implants are used to help stabilize dentures in cases of less bone support.
When the denture is complete and comfortable (to the patient), we make follow-up appointments to ensure it’s working well, long-term, and improving quality of life.
