Biography
Professor Wash completed his master’s degree at Northern Arizona University and is a licensed and certified speech-language pathologist. He has worked as a medical speech-language pathologist in both outpatient and inpatient hospital settings, primarily serving adult populations in Sun City and Surprise, Arizona.
Professor Wash is certified in Lee Silverman Voice Treatment (LSVT®) and SPEAK OUT!® and The LOUD Crowd® speech interventions for persons with Parkinson's disease. He also conducts visualization of the larynx and true vocal folds using direct fiber-optic laryngoscopy. Professor Wash also treats clients utilizing the immersive CAREN (Computer Assisted Rehabilitation Environment) at Midwestern University, which can be customized for individual patient needs and is utilized for assessment and rehabilitation for patients with Parkinson’s disease, strokes, brain injuries, physical injuries, visual skills training, and more. His specialties include assessment and treatment of voice disorders, modified barium swallow studies for assessment and treatment of dysphagia, and evaluation and treatment of aphasia, traumatic brain injury, and acquired motor speech disorders in adults.
