Biography

Dr. Danielle Reed is the Assistant Program Director for Speech-Language Pathology and an Assistant Professor for the College of Health Sciences on the Midwestern University Glendale Campus. Dr. Reed has been a licensed speech-language pathologist since 2010. Her clinical and research interests include assessing and treating pediatric speech and language disorders, autism spectrum disorders, and augmentative and alternative communication (AAC). She has practiced in various settings, including early intervention, public schools, and private in-home therapy. Dr. Reed served as the related service provider lead (SLP, OT, PT, CTVI, TODHH) in a public school district before joining Midwestern University.

Dr. Reed teaches courses in diagnostic assessment and treatment planning, culture and communication, evidence-based practice, and AAC. She is trained in Language Acquisition through Motor Planning (LAMP™), Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS®), the Kaufman Speech to Language Protocol (K-SLP®), and other extensive training in AAC assessment and treatment.
