Why We're Raising Awareness
Each year, approximately 795,000 Americans have a stroke. More than 2 million of those individuals will acquire aphasia. Our goal is to bring awareness to the community about what aphasia is and how to communicate with a person with aphasia.
Guests will:
- Hear about stroke and aphasia
- Learn effective communication strategies
- Listen to persons with aphasia and their family or caregivers who will share their personal experiences
- Obtain tips and resources about aphasia and stroke support
