Biography

As a veterinary pathologist, I use my knowledge of gross anatomy, histology, and disease pathophysiology to help diagnose disease processes occurring in a wide variety of species.  I was inspired to become a pathologist by many wonderful teachers and mentors along the way.  Given their influence in my life, I now consider myself very fortunate to have the privilege to teach and mentor veterinary students.  My ultimate goal is to share my knowledge and enthusiasm for veterinary pathology and to provide students with some of the tools to be well-rounded and well-informed veterinarians.  My research interest is studying host-pathogen interactions that occur in diseases that affect both human and animals, particularly diseases that cause diarrhea.
