Robert Kramer, D.M.D.
Biography
Dr. Kramer graduated from the University of Pittsburgh Honors College in 1986 with a self-designed major in Medical Illustration. His interest in comparative anatomy, studio arts and physical anthropology led him to pursue a D.M.D. from the University of Pittsburgh, School of Dental Medicine (Class of 1991) where he participated in the Advanced Study in Anatomy Program, the Conscious Sedation Anesthesia Program and the Special Needs Clinic. Upon graduation, Dr. Kramer purchased a private in practice in his hometown of Harrisburg, PA and developed a group practice that still thrives. He was the Founding Director of the Dental Check Up Center (a non-profit volunteer clinic in an underserved area).
He has served organized dentistry as Vice President of the PA Dental Association, President of the Harrisburg Area Dental Society, President of the PA Fifth District Dental Society, ICD Regent and Delegate to the ADA House. He served as a clinical instructor from 1991-2008 at the Harrisburg Area Community College Dental Hygiene Program and EFDA Program.
Dr. Kramer joined the Midwestern University CDM faculty as an Adjunct Professor in 2009 after selling his practice and relocating to Phoenix. He became a full-time preclinical Assistant Professor in 2010, was appointed Director of Preclinical Faculty in 2014, was promoted to Associate Professor in 2017 and has served as the Director of Digital Technology since 2022. Dr. Kramer holds Fellowships in the American College of Dentists and the International College of Dentists, a member and President of Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society. He is a 2013 Costin Scholar and an American Dental Education Association Leadership Institute Fellow, Class of 2018. Dr. Kramer is a member of the ADA, IADR, AADR, AzDA, PDA, and Academy of General Dentistry.
