Biography

Dr. Robert Fintelmann is a board-certified ophthalmologist. He obtained his medical degree at the University of Ulm in Germany, followed by an ophthalmology residency at Wills Eye Institute in Philadelphia, PA, and a Corneal and Refractive Surgery Fellowship at the Francis I. Proctor Foundation at the University of California, San Francisco.

Dr. Fintelmann has performed thousands of cataract, refractive, and corneal surgeries. He offers a wide range of vision correction surgeries (LASIK, PRK, ICL, and refractive lens exchange) as well as full and partial thickness corneal transplants (DSAEK, DMEK, DALK) and minimally invasive transplants of portions of the cornea. He also provides ablations for patients with keratoconus and helps patients decrease their dependence on glaucoma drops with minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS). In addition, Dr. Fintelmann enjoys treating dry eye for relief from chronic eye irritation.

Dr. Fintelmann serves as an oral board examiner for the American Board of Ophthalmology (ABO) and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (ACS) and a member of multiple professional organizations including the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ASCRS). His research has been published in multiple peer-reviewed journals.
