Biography
Dr. John received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology, Pre-Dentistry and Pre-Medical Technology from Augustana College in Rock Island, IL. He spent one year attending Northwestern University Medical School in Chicago, receiving a certificate in Medical Technology, before entering dental school in 1981. He attended University of Illinois College of Dentistry, receiving a B.S. and D.D.S. degree (with honors) in 1985. Upon graduation, Dr. John was elected into Omicron Kappa Upsilon dental honor society, and is now a charter member of the new Beta Epsilon chapter of Omicron Kappa Upsilon at Midwestern University.
After completing a General Practice Residency in 1986, Dr. John entered private practice in Chicago and also began his teaching career at University of Illinois College of Dentistry. For 24 years he was involved with a General Practice Residency at Rush University Medical Center, acting as Associate Program Director. Dr. John received his Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry in 1990. After 27 years in private practice, Dr. John is now focusing on teaching full time at Midwestern University College of Dental Medicine – Illinois. Dr. John has been married for 34 years, and has two daughters, along with three dogs and a three-legged cat.
