Biography

Dr. Jenelle Mallios received her Doctor of Optometry degree from New England College of Optometry (NECO), where she also completed a pediatric residency. During residency, Dr. Mallios received the AOF Dr. Terrence Ingraham Pediatric Optometry Residency Award. Dr. Mallios comes to Midwestern University after having worked at SUNY College of Optometry as an Assistant Clinical Professor and served as the chief of the Pediatrics department. While at SUNY, Dr. Mallios also taught courses and conducted research on myopia control in children, adult amblyopia, and other topics. Prior to working at SUNY, Dr. Mallios worked as an assistant clinical professor and instructor of ophthalmology at Tufts Medical Center and adjunct clinical professor at NECO. Dr. Mallios continues to teach courses and conduct research in pediatrics.

Her specialties include children with special needs, pediatric ocular disease, strabismus and amblyopia, and eye care for adults, preschool, and school-aged children. She has published scientific papers and has been an invited speaker at state, national, and international professional meetings. Dr. Mallios is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry, an InfantSEE® provider, a Diplomate of the American Board of Optometry, and a member of the American Optometric Association.
