Biography

As a veterinary pathologist, I strive to provide diagnostic support for primary care veterinarians, which thereby strengthens the existing patient-client-veterinarian relationship. While these skills are principally used to diagnose the causes of morbidity and mortality in our companion and production animals, they are also applicable to elucidate the causes of morbidity and mortality in our wildlife and may have One Health implications. 

It is a great privilege to have the opportunity to assist clinical veterinarians with the treatment of individual animals or manage the health of livestock. Understandably, the loss of a companion or production animal is a difficult event; however, understanding why and how the animal died may serve as a source of closure, may allow one to cope with the loss, or may direct management, preventive, and therapeutic strategies to protect surviving animals.
