Biography

Dr. Johnson received his B.A., B. S. and D.D.S. degrees from the University of Minnesota, practiced dentistry in the Minneapolis area for five years and moved to Phoenix in 1978 where he practiced until 1997. In 2000, he founded the non-profit Healthy Smile Foundation which provides oral health education and dental hygiene products to needy children for the prevention of tooth decay, drug and tobacco use. Dr. Johnson joined the Midwestern University CDMA pre-clinical dental faculty in 2010 and has been a member of the ADA and AzDA since 1978. In 2018, Dr. Johnson received the Olav Alvares Award from the American Dental Education Association for his work published in the Journal of Dental Education.
