Biography
Dr. Fred Collison studied Biomedical Engineering at the University of Iowa, earning a Bachelor of Science in Engineering (BSE) degree. He then attended the Illinois College of Optometry, earning a Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree, and completed Residency training in Primary Care Optometry at the Cincinnati VA Medical Center. He completed Research Fellowship training in Hereditary Retinal Diseases at the Pangere Center for Inherited Retinal Diseases in The Chicago Lighthouse. His areas of both clinical and research expertise include inherited retinal diseases, and the testing procedures relevant to those conditions, such as electroretinography (ERG), optical coherence tomography (OCT) and psychophysical testing. He is also presently employed as Director of Clinical Electrophysiology at the Low Vision Clinic in The Chicago Lighthouse. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry.
