Biography

Dr. Asra Ali received her Bachelor of Science degree from Northwestern University, after which she attained her Master’s degree in Biology from Purdue University. She achieved her Doctorate in Dental Surgery from Indiana University’s School of Dentistry. Upon graduation from dental school, Dr. Ali completed a general practice residency through Northwestern University’s Evanston Hospital.

Dr. Ali has been a practicing dentist in the Chicago area for several years. Prior to joining the Dental Institute as a clinical faculty member and assistant professor, Dr. Ali also served as an adjunct faculty member in the pre-clinical program of Midwestern’s College of Dental Medicine – Illinois. She enjoys all aspects of general dentistry. In particular, she’s passionate about oral health education, and promoting awareness of the correlation between oral health and overall systemic health. As such, Dr. Ali is involved in local health screenings and dental/medical relief work to help educate on oral health issues and provide dental services to the under-served.

Outside of the professional arena, Dr. Ali is involved with many civic and service organizations, both locally and nationally, serving as an officer or board member, as well. In her spare time, she likes traveling, decorating, running, reading, and spending time with family and friends. She also loves partaking in the culture and attractions of Chicago.

Dr. Ali is a member of the American Dental Association, the Illinois State Dental Society, the Chicago Dental Society, and the CMDS Dental study club.
