Biography

Dr. Suckow received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign, with distinction in biology for her research efforts identifying invasive species of fish in local streams.  She earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from the New England College of Optometry (NECO, where she also completed a post-doctoral residency in pediatrics and binocular vision.  Dr. Suckow has worked at three colleges of optometry, currently serving as the Dean of the Chicago College of Optometry at Midwestern University.  Dr. Suckow is currently pursuing a master’s in educational leadership from the Harvard School of Graduate Education.  

Dr. Suckow has aided in the start of community clinics including the Will County Community Health Center Eye Clinic well as a collaboration with EasterSeals to provide interprofessional care for individuals with Cortical Visual Impairment.
